Guide for Successful Applicants for 2024 Academic Year Freshman Admission Visa for International Students

Foreign exchange students who are admitted to graduate school must change their visa to a master's (D-2-3) or a doctoral (D-2-4) visa category before the start of classes. Please prepare the required documents according to your current visa type and submit them to the Global Support Team. If your visa type is not listed below, please also contact the Global Support Team for inquiries.

Type 1: Bachelor's Degree (D-2-2) → Master's Degree (D-2-3) or Master's (D-2-3) → Doctoral (D-2-4)

① Those admitted to graduate school with a Bachelor's Degree (D-2-2) and need to change to a Master's Degree (D-2-3) qualification.

② Those admitted to graduate school with a Master's Degree (D-2-3) and need to change to a Doctoral Degree (D-2-4) qualification.

Type 2: Language Institute (D-4), Job Seeking Visa (D-10) → Master's (D-2-3), Doctoral (D-2-4)

① Those admitted to graduate school with a Language Institute (D-4) qualification and need to change to a Master's Degree (D-2-3) or Doctoral Degree (D-2-4) qualification.

② Those admitted to graduate school with a Job Seeking Visa (D-10) and need to change to a Master's Degree (D-2-3) or Doctoral Degree (D-2-4) qualification.

Type 3: Overseas Applicants (Local Selection)

- Those admitted to graduate school and seeking to obtain a study abroad visa (D-2-3, D-2-4) from overseas.
